❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥Someone Asked Why?❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥

Super women took a nose dive into the ground. She hit with such force she was buried for weeks. A heavy equipment operator was called in by God. He dug till he found her. She was still breathing but emotionally frail.

He took one look at her and he felt something he has never felt before. So when God said take care of her and love her......he did. He tried to walk away but couldn't....God filled him with an abundance of all the qualities he already possessed and said use these now to help her grow to her full potential as one day you will need what she has to give......

So he put her on a pedestal and kept her dusted and polished for years. Everyday he would polish and shine her and gave her everything he had inside as God instructed.

As the years slowly passed........and she shined like the brightest star in the sky......(He did an awesome job).....but now he was slowly losing himself.

She asked God with tears in her eyes " where is he going?" God said "he is going back to where he first came. It's a long hard journey and he needs you to help him get there safely."

I will give you an abundance of all you need to help him on his journey back to me, for that is where he came from.

So to those who ask why? Because I believe in fairy tales...He is my knight in shining armor...... He literally guarded me with his life.....

Life With Em

Life with three dogs is going quite well. Emily is a gem.... She found her spot in our lives rather quickly. The little boy in Tom has been predominant with the addition of Emily.

He's on the floor rolling around and playing with the three. Each know how to manipulate him to get what they want, including Emily. He loves to get them tearing around and running through the house. They all laugh at me when I say take it out side, or if you break something there will be hell to pay. That one really makes them laugh.......

The squirrels haven't been coming up to the house so Emily has no clue about them yet.... But what she did find was a nest of snakes. I played with them as a child and have no fear of them. SO me and the girls had fun chasing them around. Lilly and Emily were the funniest as they only knew it was something that moved and they had approval to play with them....
Everyday the girls ask to go swimming..... Emily knows what that is now and is the first one to the car. She's NOT going to get left behind.
She also recognizes the sound of the 4-wheeler and excitedly joins her sisters in the window when they hear Tom coming home from a spin down the road.

Other wise Emily likes to just hang out with Lilly or on Lilly... Lilly doesn't care

and when nobody is looking Maggie let's her snuggle up to her too.
Our wall to wall bed has worked out great...Everybody has leg room.........Emily is taking a liking to sleeping under the blankets......Tom thinks it's funny so I guess I don't care. As long as I have a spot to call my own. : )

Meet Emily

Lilly and Maggie would like to introduce their new sister..... Her name is Emily. She is 3 months old, she is Chocolate Lab and Norwegian Elk Hound.
Even though we were told she has had no training, she has gone to the door and barked every time she has to go potty, she loves riding on the 4-wheeler, loves the water and swims....... AND she is a snuggler which Tom loves.
Emily loves tearing around with Lilly. If they get out of hand and start tearing the place apart, Maggie steps in and puts an end to the chaos. Maggie thinks she is the boss of everybody...... ha ha!
SLEEP? Well Tom and I haven't slept since we brought her home..... BUT we rectified that today. It was called survival..... Our bedroom is now wall to wall bed measuring 9.5' x 8'.........IF our family gets any larger we will have to go up.... as in bunk beds. I have dibs on a top bunk. ;- 0

Never A Dull Moment!

Tommy has been a busy boy!!!!!! He lent a helping hand to a neighbor who was struggling with putting in a small dock... In return he borrowed Tom his little "bobcat".....

What sounded like a small reasonable little job to the ears of the listener was mixed up in translation from the mind of Tom Olson which did not calculate to have the same meaning in the end?
In a short time Tom had our yard tore up from one end to the other.... He moved the deer stand a substantial amount by backing into it and wasn't even aware till later that night when I told him.....He tore out tree stumps, dug a ditch, leveled some uneven ground, tore up sod and moved a few big rocks......

He returned the cat with a tore up bucket. OOOPS! Did I mention when he was helping this poor old soul with his dock... Tom dropped the guys chain saw in the lake... Tom laughed and said he didn't do it on purpose.
Some body is logging down our road now so that will occupy him for the time being.... He already offered to run their "equipment"......... But they said they have plenty of guys to keep busy. Than he chuckled and admitted he had no clue how to run these new ones but he looked like he'd have fun figuring it out......

It won't be long and bear baiting will begin.... He is always out and about checking on everybody than... Most are aware of Tom's condition and are good with him....That should keep him busy till bird season..... I Hope! : )

Re-coup-ing!

We haven't had Kalan out in a way too long of time. He has grown up so much.... What a breath of fresh air.....

Tom and I had cut and burned a few dead trees around here and we were suppose to leave some of it for him.... At least that is what Tom had planed. Well Tom does things as he feels like it and it was all done before the day he was to come.

So Tom had him pulling dead fall out of the woods and burning it... It was funny as the pieces got bigger and bigger.....I think he liked the challenge. He was a lot of fun for us.... And Tom handled it well......
Kalan was only here for the day but it was just as well as the busy week was showing on Tom. We not only entertained the two granddaughters and Kalan, our grandson but our girls had their cousin Jet over for the week end also.....
So now the calm and quiet falls upon us we lay here both nursing the flu. YEP! We rarely leave the woods which leaves us pretty susceptible to the flu and things like that.....

Our girls have been so good. They lay with us all day asking for nothing.....The good thing is... Tom is easy to care for when he's sick..... And as I came down with it first... He tried so hard to take care of me. His gestures were priceless.

Here is the ice pack he proudly brought me for my head as I was running a fever..... Like I said... "Priceless"

We Had Company!!!!

Last week a couple of our Granddaughters came for a visit... "Britt and Abby" Gramps has been pretty mellow lately so we all decided to take the opportunity and "r u n" with it..... He also was surprised at how mellow he's been feeling.

He even got down on the floor with the girls to play.... And the youngest "Taylor" noticed he was different and played with him too. She is normally terrified of him.
I only mention this as most people don't realize how Alzheimer's effects the entire family..... We are no longer part of the family functions, we are no longer the center of all holidays, we are no longer participating grandparents, we are no longer ......

We live in our woods, with our animals, some wild, some domestic. Occasionally someone pops out for a visit........BUT we stay busy. We don't have a time table and I write the day, month and year on a board on the fridge as he is always asking. When he asks what year it is.... it's a little disturbing in a scary kind of way.

Some become withdrawn.. unsociable. The world moves too fast and doesn't give them time to digest it.... Talk too fast and all he hears is a bunch of noise... loud noises are startling and upsetting. A child's sweet laughter is considered one of those noises.... Music to my ears but not to his anymore.

So it was a big deal that the girls got to spend a few days with us.....

They picked wild flowers but only one still had their bouquet by the time we found water...... Okay part of her flowers.... We had flowers in our hair and petals every where.

The littlest one Abby, cut her little finger on a wild rose bush..... Her little finger is so small I could wrap the littlest band-aid in the box twice around her finger.....

Than we made chocolate chip cookies...... Abby likes to bake.... Brit likes to eat them..... So that
all worked out fine.... No squabbling for sure.

But we were missing a band-aid when we were done... That's okay because I found it ....... I was pretty sure were didn't put anything "chewy" in the cookies...... The girls thought that was pretty funny... Ol' Granny chewing on a band-aid......

The girls thought it was cool to watch our ducks, deer, squirrels and all the other birds come in, in the evening, Grampa and Abby were naming them.... Then they would try to remember what they named them.....

Sleeping arrangements? Well the girls wanted to sleep with me, the dogs wanted to sleep with the girls, Tom just wanted a quiet place to sleep and I found myself wondering around the house in the middle of the night looking for a place to lay my weary head! The girls are thrasher and the dogs fill in any extra space left...... Can I say "L O N G" night for me.... but everyone else woke up perky and rarin' to go. You know the song...."The Old Gray Mare, She Ain't What She Use To Be" : (

These "itty bitty" moments we get with the kids is priceless and cherished....For Tom too as he was there at their birth, we spent more time with them than by ourselves.... NOW we grab any moment this disease gives us......

Today we are looking forward to having one of our Grandsons for the day and I pray...it will be a good day!
